Studying in Germany, need internship

Hello, I study business in Germany with focus in finance because I want to become an investment banker. I moved here seven years ago. I have a really hard time keeping my grades at a good level because I have to work a lot and my university is far away so I can only attend a few lectures a week, so they are under the average now. Also school is very difficult here. I know those sound like excuses but I just want to tell you how it is.

I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips for me getting an internship in the USA. I hope I wouldn't get rejected by all the banks due to my grades.

Maybe it is advantage that I study in Germany and had to adapt to everything, which is not easy. Also I work at a smaller stock market. I take finance classes of course. I love math and statistics and similar subjects.

I would really appreciate your help, because it is my dream to become an investment banker. Thank you.

I'm a US citizen, so I don't have problems with that. But that was my plan, to apply at boutiques and hopefully get an internship there, either USA or Germany, even other countries.

I think when I get my first internship, everything will be easier. I wish I could get a certificate like CFA, but for now I'll do my best without it
