Summer 2008 Internship.. no replies yet...?

I applied to most of the top banks in NY, IB division, around late December or early January, but haven't heard back from most of them.

Anybody got any response from the firms below (and applied early January)?????

Morgan Stanley Merrill Lynch Citi Group UBS Bear Stearns Greenhill Deutsche Bank

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did you apply online? On campus recruiting was pretty brutal at my target school so I'd imagine that applying online would be even more fruitless this year.

Banking > VC > Tech PE; PM me if you would like any advice I'm happy to help

I heard back from MS, UBS, and Citi. The others no response, but I think its getting close to crunch time. By now, I assume most banks are only doing superdays if that most first rounds should be over.

some in dec, some in january, and very few (~2?) from early feb. not all are on your list. the last one i applied to & heard back from is from early feb.

does your school have monstertrak or another resume drop website through career services? which lac, if you don't mind. send me a private message if you don't wanna post here.

i applied via recruiting / resume drop, so that was pretty quick. the longest i waited to hear back from an online application is almost exactly one month. shortest is a week..

godofsmallthingsi heard back from DB and got an offer. DB has filled their SA class.

not true, considering a week ago DB just posted an internship at my target school for investment banking

From what I understand, SA recruiting is closed or near its close at all of the BB's. If banks haven't contacted you by now I would recommend you look for another internship. There are plenty of opportunities out there that can help get you an analyst position upon graduation. Don't be discouraged; go find a cool opportunity. Good luck.

It might well be true that DB is full and also posted at your school. Your school may have a quota of X spots and outside of the total X spots, they are full. Given you are at a target, you most likely have at least a few spots set aside.
