Switch: rating agency quant team to S&T

Is it a feasible transfer or is it more a 'once a quant, always a quant' kind of story? From what I have heard here, the quant team (mainly on CDOs) is well looked upon and often people are recruited by banks/hedge funds. However, I have not heard of anyone moving to trading (my interests lie in fixed income/energy trading).
