Tear up my resume/Advice

Please take a look at my resume. It's not that good. I'm largely lacking in professional experience and I do not have a lot of work experience. My undergrad career was shaky and I lacked motivation. However grad school has been going great, and I've taken a serious interest in finance and investments. I probably don't stand a chance at any of the big firms, but I'm look for something where I can get my foot in the door and get my Series 7 license. I'm set to graduate next may. Unfortunately I'll be graduating without an SA position or any finance internship. I'm not quite sure what my next step should be, and how I should market myself. Any advice would be greatly welcomed! I've only been a WSO member for a short time, but you all have been helpful and insightful. Thanks!

Will be honest. It will be difficult for you to break into an IB role with that resume / professional background. There will be an uphill battle against people with relevant experience (previous IB, or some form of corporate finance).

Your resume needs to focus on relevant topics for finance, especially since you are a MBA. Focus on just two of your previous jobs and beef it up with real accomplishments.

As a fellow Texan...the brand and isolated geography are tough. Moreover, you went for the MBA way too soon. Took a major bullet out of your gun by doing that. Best advice is to work the Texas Tech network. It is a big enough school that there have to be some older alums in Dallas/Houston doing something substantive in finance.

Wouldn't worry about the 7. Passing Level I and then taking Level II in June 2013 would go a lot further from a recruitment perspective (assuming you want to do AM).

Agree with the formatting suggestions. Try to get something results/numbers/ oriented on there if at all possible.

CFA, take it off unless you're confident will ALL the material. which at this stage you're not.

at a min. it's CFA Level I Candidate Dec 2012

My grandma is proficient in Social Media, and you clearly aren't proficient in MS Office if you can't format bullets correctly, so take those out

Under your MBA, what academic scholarship? If there's no description of what it means, then it doesn't mean anything

Change degree GPA to be out of 4.0 so that you're consistent with your formatting.. cmon

Under relevant coursework, what is Ethics? there are a lot of areas of ethics. I'd assume the same with IT and management

Under Green Air Project, say promoted not promotes. It should be in the past-tense even if you're still doing it, so say authored and gave

Under Haven Animal Care shelter, you need verbs.. Human Resource Management is just a thing, what did you do with it?

Thank you all. I've taken all of the proposed changes under consideration, and I'm working on a new resume. I'm currently on schedule to graduate in May. Should I postpone graduation until August and attempt to get a finance related internship next summer? What about part time work? It seems impossible to find industry related work in Lubbock as a student. I need all of the advice I can get!
