Term Paper on M&A activity. which sources do you recommend?!

Hey everyone,

I am currently working on a paper describing the evolution of M&A activity. Regarding my research progress I am struggling with finding significant information about M&A activity in the 80's, 90's. I have access to Capital IQ and mergermarket but both do not fulfill my requirements since mergermarket for example does not have any deals listed prior to 1999.

Well, therefore I was wondering wheather anyone might be willed to help me. I'd appreciate if you suggested me some good sources.

Many thanks so far!
