To be a BSD

was out with brokers last night, and was chatting.... check this out, there is a guy who is the biggest market maker in swaps in the world and he was out in japan for a number of years. When his bank moved him to NYC, the brokerage co made his coverage relocate with him from Tokyo to NYC.

I think the term in general is overused, but that my friends, is a BSD.

that's the funny thing, i can almost gty no one on the boards would be able to guess if you go off 'rankings'.

take a stab at it ppl, what firm do you think has the biggest and possibly best vanilla swaps trader in the world? Discuss.

BoA's S&T interviewers said they their fixed income was the best in the firm to kids they were interviewing during spring recruitment lol. I'm not sure if it was implied or blunt though (heard it second hand from my friend who's interning there).

That guy is badass btw.

i dont understand your point...they said the best part of their firm was the fi division? or their fi division was the best on the street?

ThoughtManjimbo,

The kid interviewing with them said he wanted to do Fixed Income, they replied that it was a good choice because it was the strongest division at BoA.

ok. did he take the job?

nah, he's working at GS in FICC. but its pretty badass to say that FI was the best division at a firm, when other people from other divisions are interviewing the same person too.

btw, he was split between GS and BoA and maybe a few others. Kids at school who actually interviewed with BoA's S&T program give it more cred than most posters on IBoasis, it seems.
