Top PE/VC Firms in Nashville

Hey All,
Hope everyone is doing well.

I was wondering - does anyone have any experience or know of the top PE/VC firms in the greater Nashville area?

I'm currently working in strategy/advisory/analytics at a top tech company in the NYC area (I'm ~mid-level with 10ish years of experience). My wife and I are looking to start a family and, being that we're both from the South, would love to move back to Nashville. Being in NYC is a great luxury, and if I wanted to change jobs I have a plethora of choices, but I'm not entirely sure what's out there for me in Nashville. I would love any thoughts/feedbacks. I'm looking for a role/firm where I could play start-up advisor, get analytics/data science up and running, and work on strategy, which is basically my current job now.

Thanks y'all!

LFM and Gen Cap are decent LMM PE funds that have been around for a while. Claritas and Council tend to be non-auction buyers/investors and do small deals, mostly in HC services and tech.

There's a fair amount of lending (mezz, sponsor finance, etc.). Capital Alignment Partners does mezz and maybe unitranche, Harbert does Mezz and there's a few others that escape me. There was also a few distressed lenders formed by ex-BB guys (one of the Euro-based, I think CS) that do some hairy ABL and loan-to-own.

If your search has a healthcare (specifically heathcare IT) angle to it, check out Council Capital and FCA Ventures.

They've begun to do funds that co-invest on their IB deals, pretty unique strategy as they're fully passive investors, just getting access to the deal flow they "create".

AllianceBernstein is moving their HQ to Nashville. Might be worthy to monitor their website to see if they are moving any of their front office investment professionals to Nashville. My understanding is the move is more for middle / back office while still maintaining offices in the major markets for front office.
