training at bb--what does this mean

Can any current analysts comment please? What does it mean that a lot of BBs train you? Does this just mean that they bring in a company like TTS or Wall Street Prep to teach you modeling for two weeks before the job? I am just curious because I think I am going to be working at a boutique ib that does not have a formal training program and am wondering if I am going to be missing out on anything. I can't imagine that the BBs are like school. t
