Transportation to Financial Services Industry Transition
Hi, I need some help from you experts!
I have an Industrial Engineering and MBA degree with work experience in the transportation and boutique operational consulting firms. I currently work in an internal consulting role at a large Fortune 500 company however I would like to transition into the financial services industry. Ideally, Asset Management or investment consulting (something that blends advising and investing).
In the meantime, I have to pay bills and I am not sure what role to take on next which would position me well (or better) to transition to asset management. I have worked in the corporate finance division for a short time and was not able to make it into the Investor Relations department here. So my next logical step would be to work in FP&A.
Do you think this is a good idea in the meantime while I search for an equity research/investor relations/investment consulting position externally?
I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!
