UK graduate seeking work in USA

Im a Uk graduate with a 2:1 degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Finance with merit (2:1). How would i go about applying for jobs in the USA. Is there any chance of getting one because of the Visa restrictions. Would the US companies rather take USA graduates to avoid sponsoring visas. Whats the best way of getting from the UK to wall street, Thanks in advance

Very difficult unless you have someone on the street fighting to pull you across. Seeing as you have already completed a Masters anyway, fall recruiting for 2011 FT jobs is pretty much done so you may be better off looking to another industry still recruiting (in the UK), and try to switch to banking from there. Then apply for an MBA in the US, and try to get a FT post-MBA associate gig in IB.

Why haven't you tried to get a job in London? Also, give more info, any extra curricular activities? I'm assuming with merit is the equivalent of (in the US) with honors? Do you have any internships?
