Hey guys, I was fortunate enough to be given an offer in the Deloitte Financial Services Strategy and Operations Group as a sophomore. I understand that Deloitte S&O is one of the top groups in Deloitte, but I haven't heard much about their FS S&O group in particular.
Is this a prestige group? Will this opportunity help me in attracting recruiter's attention at MBB in my junior year?
And last question is how interesting are the projects in this division?
Sorry for the big block of writing and thanks guys!

I've never heard of Financial Services S&O. I know that one of the capabilities within S&O is Finance (along with M&A, Strategy, etc). Is that what you mean? How did you get placed specifically in Finance?
Either way, a Deloitte S&O internship of any kind as a sophomore is impressive. That should signal pretty strongly to MBB recruiters next year.

I'm interested in this as well. I will be interning at Deloitte S&O in their Life Science practice this summer. If anyone knows I would love to hear about the strength of this division, what type of projects to expect, and if this will put me in a good position for MBB recruiting in the fall.
What office will you be interning at? I'll be out of LA.

There is no such thing as a "Financial Services Strategy and Operations" group in Deloitte Consulting. This sounds like a division/offering of Deloitte Financial Advisory services, which is not Deloitte Consulting. S&O doesn't hire sophomore interns (their program is specifically for juniors) and you don't get placed in a "group" for your internship.
That said, any sort of consulting role (even if it's through the advisory service line) as a sophomore will look impressive on a resume. What'll help with MBB is A) being at a target (MBB, unlike banks, hardly hire undergraduate interns outside their target schools), and B) networking like a baller.
