I found this new small financial firm relatively close to home. They offer Marketing volunteer position. Even though I don't want anything related to marketing I'm 18 years old, first year undergraduate and finding good internships will be hard without experience. Should I take this position just for the name on the resume ?

You should get a life. I
You should get a life. I didn't know what I wanted to do until I was 21 (and I still have doubts) and I'm at a BB for IBD. Most of my peers are this way. Some people we interview are total tools/overachievers who always talk about how much they wanted to do finance ever since they were 10 or something. Those are the people who get dinged.
LOL. Who said I'm
LOL. Who said I'm different... Everything changed since I read this forum. Everybody is talking about how extremely competitive banking is how hard it is to get a job and so on. I got fucking scared !
If you've got some time, I
If you've got some time, I think you should consider the volunteer position. Every experience you have helps you get closer to figuring out what is interesting, and what's less interesting for you. If you volunteer for some period of time and figure out that marketing really isn't your thing, but you really liked the part of the project where you did X, that will give you some direction as to what you should look at next, and give you a more compelling interview story for your next job.
