Which Path Should I Take?
I am currently in the middle of a 2-year Master's in Accountancy at the Kelley School of Business at IU. I am completing a TAS internship at a smaller public accounting firm in the Midwest and have a few offers to accept.
Path One:
- Deal Advisory & Core Strategy Intern - Summer 2021 at KPMG (NYC)
- Private Equity Intern - Fall 2021 (Midwest)
- Audit Intern at PwC - Spring 2022 (Midwest)
Once these are completed, I would accept a full-time offer at KPMG in their Deal Advisory practice upon graduation.
Path Two:
- Deal Advisory Associate at Top 10 public accounting firm (RSM, GT, BDO, etc.)
Which offer makes more sense to accept long-term if I want to stay in TAS or maybe get into IB/PE recruiting later on down the road? My only concern about the full-time Deal Advisory offer in Path Two is that I would not be able to keep a high GPA while working full-time. What are the things I should be thinking about before I accept any of these offers?
