Why VC?

What are some customary answers for why VC coming from a banking background?

Also, what kinds of questions are usually asked for Pre-MBA associate interviews?

Do yourself a favor

Tell them why YOU'RE interested in VC. If it's only the hours and the "sexy" image, then you're probably going to be a bad venture capitalist anyways. Do yourself a favor and sit down and think long and hard. Do you like the idea of contributing your business and finance savvy to helping entrepreneurs that might have a brilliant, viable idea, but no way to get it off the ground? Do you like the idea of spotting big winners and supplying them with the final boost they need before they take off? Are you joining a VC that focuses on clean energy because you hate America's addiction to oil? Etc., etc....

If I were you, I'd forget about asking for the cookie-cutter, BS answers from everyone else and focus on what counts to you. Think about the fund's investment stage, industry focus, and principles.
