To all IBD analysts, what percentage of your time in the office is spent actually working? I.e. not shooting the shit with colleagues, browsing the internet or making personal calls :)
Last summer, they were several analysts on my floor in M&A who had computer games installed to use during the substantial periods when they were waiting for work to come back with corrections from e.g. a VP
We all know the hours are hell, but surely of the 80+ hours spent in the pen, a substantial amount don't involve anything work-related???

I like Call of Duty, but you can't beat Delta Force 2, online multi-player rocked my world!
Call of Duty 4 is amazing
Call of Duty 4 is amazing indeed. Course online play is the best tho.

Netflix instant view
Games are good and all, but for anything where you play against other people its hard to alt+tab away fast enough when someone comes by.
On the other hand, Netflix instant view you can pause or alt+tab away no worries quick as can be. Other great things to watch include southpark (southparkstudios.com has all the episodes online legally now). Ebooks are good to, they look like you are reading some big important PDF document, when in reality you are completely off the reservation.

Hard to say since every day
Hard to say since every day is different. There are actually some days where I won't have much, if any, downtime, but on average I spend around half my time waiting for corrections/feedback/people to call me back.
It's a really inefficient model, but I don't think there's a great way to improve it.
And how exactly do you install games? I have trouble installing basic software like Acrobat...
More sick
