I'm a career switcher going from Mortgage hedging to equity research for the media and entertainment or consumer product industry( be nice to go straight to the buyside but everyone and their momma wants to so probably not realistic).
My question is how to approach the " what do you want post MBA essay question". I need to be realistic in my short term goal. Do I go investment banking to transition, or Equity research sellside, or a trading desk. Also, is it a bad idea to say I want to reach the buyside for my long term goal?
