Patrick Bateman's New York

A HUGE hat tip to @The_Analyst for this gem.

Have you ever wanted to go all Patrick Bateman on the Big Apple but didn't know where to start? Fret not, monkeys, for Scouting New York has done all the legwork for you in this excellent research piece.

No, you'll never get reservations at Dorsia, or get bottle service at Tunnel, or meet colleagues for drinks at Flutie's Pier 17. You won't get served by Harry Poulakakos at Harry's any more, because that place went under in 2003, but his son will happily serve you at the same location in the Harry's he later opened.

Of course the Harvard Club, the Yale Club, and the Cornell Club (and I think even the DeVry Club) are still standing, and you're welcome to enjoy the amenities if you're an alumnus. Patrick's explanation for the last time he'd seen Paul Allen ("We had dinner at Orso's. No, Petaluma. No, Orso's.") would stand the test of time, as both establishments are still open and thriving today.

Any of you who have partied at Lavo have been inside the old Au Bar. Le Cirque is toast, as is Flamingo East. 150 Wooster is now a baby carriage showroom.

Go down the list, you're bound to have a few laughs. You might even get nostalgic and grab lunch at Smith & Wollensky's or the Four Seasons (if you're a PE guy). Just make sure you're rocking Huey Lewis & The News on you iPod when you do.

Cool article--definitely looks like a ton of effort went into it! No Huey Lewis and the News for me, though. I'm more of a Robert Palmer and a Phil Collins guy. (I'm actually serious about that. If anyone goes off with that monologue again...)
