Scott Walker Creates Over 1/2 of New U.S. Jobs in June

According to a variety of sources, the policies enacted by Scott Walker seem to be working. All the bitching about his budget bill a few months ago seem to have amounted to simply fear mongering. In June, Wisconsin added 9,500 jobs, over half of the national total. And since he took over, Wisconsin has added over 39,000 private sector jobs (2x the national average growth rate) and earned enough revenue that it is actually saving teacher's jobs and pensions.

Ha....Stupid liberals. Hope that Walker can get the message out so he can destroy his opponent in the probable recall he faces by the liberals and he teacher's unions.

I love Walker.

Let me see.

1) Wisconsin voters overwhelmingly elect Republicans for every area of the state.

2) Walker was always pretty transparent about what he wanted to do.

3) He put in law that Unions could not FORCE public workers to be in unions or collect dues(makes sense to me).

4) Public workers have to contribute more to their retirement and health

What happens? Protesters from other states come in to protest. Democrats leave the state, inhibiting the will of the people from being acted on (remember, the PEOPLE, elected all these Republicans). Now Democrats are trying to recall Republicans and will most likely fail or have minimal success.

This was a great first step. Public workers are paid for with tax payer dollars. They are a drag on the system.

Dems are all for the rights of people to marry and fuck unicorns, but the second I say I want the right to NOT be in a union or have to pay union dues (which get funneled back to Democrat candidates) they balk. How can someone have the right to NOT fork over cash to a bureaucratic, wasteful organization.

Democracy is only ok when it is the Democrats shoving bullshit legislation and tax increases down everyone's throat.

Oh wait, that's right. You don't have the RIGHT to keep what you earn. Give it to me so I can redistribute it to people who most likely will vote Democrat in the next election.

Hmmmmmmmm

I don't think the private sector job growth has anything to do with forcing government employees to take a haircut. That's not to say I don't appreciate a good union bust when things are clearly out of line as they were.

It will be interesting to see how the tax breaks and even larger spending cuts play out in the long term. The effects won't really be felt for another 2 years once the cuts really kick in. Cutting spending (by $300m) more than taxes by ($67m) will likely result in a contraction.

FYI: OP your source for the jobs number is the office of the governor. We tend to question the figures put out by the feds and I would be just as skeptical of those put out by the states.

Actually ANT and OP you guys are wrong. Walker's camp made this statement (although Walker himself never said it), and it has since been proven false.

When you think about it for a second, the claim doesn't make much sense. Since the nations job growth is an aggregate of the states, including ones that had negative growth, that means that just because Wisconsin's number was half of the nations total it didn't necessarily create half the jobs. Texas created 32,000 jobs last month, but it would sound ridiculous if you heard Rick Perry say Texas created over twice the amount of new jobs.

I think the "most since 9/2003" should be the focus. If you want to call the "half" statement disingenuous because of polling differences and the word "net"...ok. But you cant ignore the fact that the man created the most mount of jobs in almost 8 years (during a downturn nonetheless).

Reality hits you hard, bro...

Oh yeah, in no way am I denying that he's been doing going things recently economically. I actually go to school at Wisconsin, and pretty much just sat back during the whole protesting thing, the vitriol really got to absurd levels.

Disagree with thread title.

Scott Walker, like any other political parasite, DIDN'T CREATE JACK SHIT.

But he had sense enough to get the fuck out of the way of the private sector and let them do what they do best. This puts him several notches above the political parasite class already.

I don't dislike Baruch Obuma personally but watching him, Jeetner, and Professor Ben fuck up the national economy like a bunch of medieval quacks sticking their filthy fingers into a patient's pustulent wounds makes me loathe the stupidity of the electorate that gave him his job.

Spot on. It always pisses me off when some politician takes credit for "creating" jobs.
