Interviewed first with BofA recruiter over phone twice before I received an actual interview with the firm. Once I had this interview my first interview was with the head of the team I was joining. I met with him and then got called back. The HR recruiter at BofA handled all the scheduled and planning of my interview process. I interviewed with 11 different people over the course of 5 visits to the office. 9 of these interviews were with heads of their respective groups including the head of the entire platform. Each interview was between 20-30 minutes closer to 30 on average. I met with the head of my team 4 times and had two phone interviews with him. The office was cluttered because the company just went through major restructuring as BofA just bough ML and I was interviewing at ML. The people were very pleasant and the interviews were of average difficulty. Majority of questions were to establish background profile and then experience questions and fit. Very few were specific to the actual business. Work culture was quiet for a trading floor set up. Once through interviews I went through formal background check. Negotiated my pay directly with my managing director. Company turned it to be very political. Difficult interview process because was at the office on five occasions with multiple interviews with several new or same people. Subsequent hires to my team of similar levels did not have the same process and interviewed usually with only people on the team.
