IBD Summer Associate

1st round consist of 2 30-min phone interviews in English. Both of the interviewers are ED level; You could run into any combination of behavioral and technical questions. If you are a career switcher, which is actually rare for Asia banking, you could expect the interviewer are more interested in what was your former job about and why you want to switch to banking. They seems don't really care about "why GS" question but if you have strong background in finance you should be prepared to answer this.

Superday happened in NYC. Most of my GS superday interviews was in Mandarin after the interviewer figured out that I had no problem to speak English. Everyone spoke extremely fast. Not too much technical part - one interviewer (MD) even just asked me "what technical questions you got in the other room (2 EDs)" and "how you feel about your answer" then we moved on to the next question.

Not too many tricky question - they will ask you where you are currently in recruiting, and seems even company like GS can get unsecured. Many Asian MBAs will recruit for both US and Asian positions and they lost some offerees to "the street". Just be honest! As a matter of fact, all offerees I know admitted that they are recruiting for US as well (including myself).
