Airlines strictly enforcing carry-on luggage restrictions; results?
There has been some recent hubbub about airlines strictly enforcing their new carry-on sizers, which measure 22x14x9". Supposedly a lot of luggage that is currently marketed as a "carry-on" does not fit in the sizers, oftentimes due to the width restriction. See, for example:

Two questions for this discussion:
(1) Have you noticed a recent trend in your airline of choice buckling down on carry-on size?
(2) Which brand/model of luggage do you carry? Does it fit in the sizers?
I'm looking to invest in a new carry-on; don't know if I want to spend the big money on a B&R, Victorinox, or even TravelPro luggage only to find out that I have to check it. Looking for a large enough carry-on for M-Th travel.
I did a ton of research on FlyerTalk and just bought the B&R U122CX. The FT folks have pictures of it fitting in about 10 different airlines' sizers. I love it and have had no issues on American or United so far.

(1) In general, yes. But it'll depend completely on the GA. (2) To echo @"brj", the B&R U122CX would be my recommendation. I've had a few colleagues have issues with the new Alpha 2's. And I honestly think the B&R is a much better value with their lifetime warranty.
I read this and was pissed. Like raise the price on the ticket already. This is just nickle and dime bullshit. Especially after they set a carry on size and everyone buys something to fit those measurements. These new ones are literally an inch or so smaller, just enough to fuck you.
Nickle and dime BS indeed. Or brilliant lobbying by B&R, Tumi, and Delsey.
Just get a Tumi. And some airline status.
Status doesn't help with gate checking...
