Analysis Group (economic consulting) first round interview question
I'm a senior at an ivy in a quantitative field(s), interned at GS for two summers in their IB division, but frankly didn't like the culture or the work or the hours and want to go to law school at some point any way, so felt econ consulting would be better for me.
I have an first round interview with Analysis Group coming up, and while economics is one of my majors, I have never held a economic research position. Reading through glass door etc it seems like they really like to talk about past economic research/past projects with data. I have done past projects with data in class, but never as a RA.
- how do i get around the fact I never did research? i.e. I'm having trouble deciding how should i phrase it, especially given i spent two summers in finance in the same firm doing the same role
- how should i phrase my summers...like should i spend any time discussing the excel modeling/qualitative finance work I did? or is it better to focus on whatever few quantitative/research-esque things i have done?
- any other general tips about first rounds w A.G.?
any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
