Why is your resume 3 pages? Needs some serious formatting work. Also, how did you graduate cum laude with a 3.2 GPA?
That's just how my school worked. Either way, it was enough to get me into med school which what I was mainly concerned about at the time... now I'm hoping it will be enough to get a consulting gig!
In response to the first question, I guess the proper term is a CV which is traditionally longer than the typical 1-page resume. The APD website specifically said not to bother trying to truncate it down the 1-page resume format so.... I'm hoping that it won't not a problem. I guess I'm really just asking for opinions on the content....

Thank you. One interesting fact is that my school wasn't a top 10 when I applied, but it has risen swiftly through the ranks over the last several years. But what probably helped me were my people skills and copious amounts of prayer. And yes... lots and lots of leverage.
Any other comments? I'm guessing that the content is fine?

If I were reading your resume, I would not invite you to an interview. -resume is way too long. Two pages maximum and only if it's really strong would I go two pages. I have to read 50 resumes at a clip on top of a 60-70 hour work week. Three page resumes really bother me. Efficient communication is necessary in this job. -no clear demonstration of personal impact. Don't tell the reviewer what you did. I don't care that you organized this or that. We don't hire organizers but rather people that create an impact. I am sure you have impactful things on your resume, so re word them to demonstrate that. -Lasetly, no clear indication that you want to be a consultant or that you are interested in business. You should demonstrate at least some reason why you are applying to consulting.
I read some of your previous postings, I believe you've participated in the summer programs before. Do you mind if I ask you a couple of q's?
Your first two critiques are helpful and relatively easy to address, so thank you. Unfortunately it is too late for me to do much about them now as I had to submit my app for Insight Healthcare earlier today. If I am not selected for Insight or MD Contact, could I still apply for a full-time position when the FT app opens later in the year?
In regards to your last comment, I don't know that I would be able to meaningfully address the third one within the next few months. I did try explain my interest in consulting within my cover letter, but I understand your point that it should be better reflected in the resume. I suppose I could easily add my membership to one of the consulting clubs at the University, but would that be significant enough? I don't know that I would have the time or the availability to pick up a business internship this year given my clinical duties.
While my university overall is a target for several firms there have been very few people from my medical school who have gone on to work in consulting, so our exposure to the field is somewhat poor. I'm a little frustrated.
Some ideas:
Length: as many have pointed out, it's too long. I think entire sections can be cut out. The community service section doesn't seem relevant to consulting, so you can take that out. Affiliation and memberships should be gone as well. "Work" isn't contributing anything right now, so either rewrite that bullet or get rid of it. The starting point of each bullet can be pushed up to shorten the length too.
Order of various sections: I'd put Research before Leadership, as what you did as a researcher is probably much more relevant to consulting than any leadership activity.
Content (Leadership): Everything sounds way too fluffy. The main problem is that you don't directly show personal impact that you had on the organizations. The only place I see it is when you say "developed a recruitment system that resulted in 15% increase in matriculation of minority students in 2009, sustained in 2010." I also don't think you need all those bullet points there. If there's already a bullet point on how you organized an event (#1 bullet for Associate Regional Director), you don't need to show it again (#3 for Admissions Chair/Social Chair). Just seems repetitive.
Content (Research): I think everything is too high-level. For example, for the DRC one, you just say you "designed a study." But that doesn't really tell me what you actually did and what kinds of impact that had on the research team. I'd expand much more on your specific duties, such as "literature review, study design, applying for grant funding, survey construction and data collection and analysis." How many and which sources did you consult? What design method did you use? What was the result of your grant applications? How many surveys and survey participants were there? What did the survey show? What data did you collect? How did you go about collecting them? Personally, these are the questions I would be asking while reading it.

Would you all recommend that I invest in a resume editing service? Consulting is such a different ball game and I just think its kind of crazy how my CV has gone over great for residency interviews (and passed by several eyes in my med school's version of a career office), but you all are ready to throw it out with the bath water haha. I just want to make sure I give myself the best opp possible
