McKinsey Internship plus money vs. chilling the months before BB IBD Summer Internship

Hi,

So the question is pretty straight-forward. How tiring would it be for someone who has never worked more than 40hrs/week to first intern at McKinsey for a couple of months to later on intern at a BB? I would really welcome the additional income that would be earned from the McKinsey internship as well as the security of having a return offer at McKinsey as a fall-back during my banking internship. I am however more interested in banking and would like to know how big of a negative impact the McKinsey internship could have on my sharpness during my banking internship?

Strange question, I know. But it would be great to hear from someone who has done something similar earlier, i.e. having their first real "demanding" job straight out of school for 5-6 consecutive months.

Thankful for any advice.

That's true. I have however heard from others that the summer analysts more often than not get tired at the end of the internship. I would not like to jeopardize my chances of crushing my summer internship over something as trivial as tiredness from previous internships.

I believe that I could do it but everyone seems to talk about the burnout that happens at your third or four months of working in very demanding conditions. Having "the first-year burnout" is not a very favorable position to be at as a summer analyst.

I'm reading this with the assumption that the McK internship is a summer gig and the BB internship is a fall gig, is that the case?
