PMP - Salary Bump, Benefits, Value?

How valuable is a PMP in consulting? I'm weighing the options of studying for one, but similar to the CFA, is it losing its luster?

Has anyone had experience in terms of immediate salary boost after earning one?

my guess is it depends on the firm.

at MBB...not very valuable. project management is considered not that complex/difficult. many projects have a small project manaement component, but rarely will a client pay MBB rates for a PMO

maybe at a firm with lower rates, project management is a bigger chunk of work. not sure

From what I've seen on LinkedIn and what people have told me, Big 4 + Accenture stresses the PMP certification, sometimes even more than a graduate degree. I know it’s antidotal, but it seems to jive with your take.
