Macquarie Comp--Base lower but bonus higher?
Does Macquarie pay their Associates in line with the street? My feel from the interview is base is lower, bonus is higher to make up for it.
Any thoughts

Associate bonus is 20K
Ouch…makes sense though why the Associate turnover was so high in the sector after bonuses. Is this first year? Does it improve or is 20k essentially "middle bucket" forever? Any additional details would be great. Thanks,
My impression is the opposite of what you described. I know someone that worked there as an analyst: $90K base + $5k bonus.
Any comments on the work environment - hours, culture etc. at the firm?
Anyone else on this? Rather conflicting answers..
bump
i had an interview there in ER. associate told me there was a lot of turnover in ER because of the low bonuses that were paid out.
yea i was told about high turnover too---like three associates in three years, each leaving around Feb. I am totaly cool with 90+5, but 60 +5? not sure about that one. Any idea on all in?
at what level? i heard 3rd year associate is in the range of 85-95 all in. thats with a 5-10k bonus.
That sure seems low. I am wondering about 1st year. Would 60k all in sound right? Again seems low. Do they compensate their Analysts better/in line with the Street?
First year IB analysts make $70-75K base at Macquarie so I doubt anyone would actually be starting at $60K. Doubt they really take anyone straight out of undergrad for a research associate position as well. I would assume base is somewhere in the $80-100K range with bonus in $10-20K range.
I know that is the typical comp, but i have heard many times that Mac is generally way below par in either bonus or base in IB. Just wondering if this carries over to ER---maybe a dumb ? but the bonus pools are different (right?)
