The touch screen and new OS doesn't yet compare to more trendy alternatives (insert iPhone) but the keyboard and the BB email friendly interface is what keeps me going to RIM instead of others. I'd keep the Curve or do the Bold (both are fine phones but I know where you are coming from on the web browser issue; I have a small collection of Curve's, Bold's and a Torch) and wait and see if a second generation Torch does better with a touch screen and OS.

In 1976, James Hunt broke the sound barrier through Eau Rouge only to retire before the event finished... following the race he had sex with three Belgian nurses at the clubhouse near La Source.

BlackBerry is letting me down with the Bold 9700 that I have. If you want to get one, go ahead. Just make sure it isn't AT&T (for some reason, the AT&T branded phones that cross the pond to Saudi Arabia seem to be the most defective batch).

Greed is Good.

I don't get why blackberry is popular right now. What makes it so different from all other brands? (Sorry, I've always been a fan of Nokia)

BlackBerry's biggest advantage to the competition is its strong email interface. If you email a lot on the run, get a BlackBerry. It has widely been recognized as the "business phone," although this may not be the norm in the future. Honestly, RIM is pretty weak in other areas compared to the iPhone and Android OS systems.

My boss has the torch and i have the curve, personaly like the curve better cause of the seperation in the keys...I fucking hate the pad instead of the ball, i can't get past 13K on brickbreaker which is utterly pathetic.

Agreed on the keys. The Torch keys are a little crammed together and do take a while to get used to... if you can even manage that. But I personally prefer the pad over the ball. Before I would need to stop by the shops to replace the ball at least once a year because it would stop working properly; no problems like that with the pad. Plus, I feel that the pad is much more fluid in its control and motion.

My record on BrickBreaker is 13,890 (on pad). I'm satisfied if I can just break beyond the 10k mark.

^^^^ agree Torch is no good, touch screen useless, smaller keys than the Bold, not very discreet when you type in meetings (you have to slide the whole thing open to use the keyboard), slower browser, weights more than the Bold and is more bulky
