LO AM to MM HF
Undergrad sophomore. Have an offer at a LO AM (D&C/Cap Group) but want to be at a L/S pod structure eventually. Is there a way from D&C to MM HF or is my best bet to do IB or recruit MM HF right now for junior summer? Thanks!

Assuming it is an RA position, would take it over IB. RAs from these programs routinely get offers from top MMs and have to be convinced to take those :)
.
of course, feel free to reach out
RA and don't look back. If at any point in the next few years other stuff in life starts mattering to you (going out, girlfriend/dating etc) then the LO seat will look even more attractive. If not, and you can make 2/3 year stacks your life, the MMs will be hiring.
Doesn't make sense to slave for 2 years in IB only to join a pod as a junior. RA will be a great environment to build your foundational knowledge of companies, just make sure to carve out a well-defined coverage for yourself, don't become a beta index-hugger, finish the 3/5Y programme and you should be able to get a sleeve at a pod for the real $$. Only undergrad MM HF seat I'd consider in your position is P72 Academy since you get a similar 3Y runway as an analyst there + more junior pay. But make sure it's really D&C/Cap Group tier because I don't think MMs would really look at folks from second-tier LOs.
Thank you! It is one of the two (D&C/Cap Group)
MMs look at second tier as well but lower u go command over coverage is more important. Otherwise strongly agree with everything said here
Would you say the same for fidelity?
Yup many ex-Fidelity at the Big 3/4
