Which app do you use? If you get a monthly subscription, you save on delivery and service fees and can order worth ~24-25 with a 3 dollar tip.

Some of us are blessed with a high metabolism and a tall height. So we have to consume like a beast.

Lol yeah you got a slow ass metabolism if you’re putting on major pounds from the typical dinner stipend

Nah I fast, skip breakfast and don't eat until 12:30-1 most days then fast again until the dinner arrives at ~7pm, which at that point I'm starving. The trick is targeting pure protein with light carb meals because your body actually burns calories digesting protein. It's almost impossible to gain fat eating pure lean protein which is why I like getting that Panda meal. Haven't gained any weight since starting.

Hopefully they will increase this after the efficient reorganization.

Ozymandia I wanted to tag you in this thread since, correct me if I am wrong, you worked in the food service industry before finance.  Thoughts?

Also - That should be plenty enough for meals.

I did not.  That being said $30 seems like plenty for a basic meal...

Controversial

Why do analysts need to spend 30 every night for dinner?? I’d recommend not spending that to buy dinner because it could lead to you gaining weight and becoming unhealthy - nobody needs to eat that much, analysts can meal prep and bring a box of pasta or salad to the office for dinner every day instead

working 80 hours a week to meal prep pasta in little boxes no thanks

Why don’t you just Sweetgreen every night?

Delivery sweetgreen with tip can actually be more than $30. My normal salad is like $20 before tip and delivery and god forbid I treat myself to a seltzer once in a while.

Like the unadjusted- only with a little bit extra.

what is wrong with the US bro in London dinner stipends easily cover the cost what are you ordering which is that expensive

my go to is a nice pasta dish (circa 800 cal) and garlic bread (circa 500 cal) from an italian restaurant which is around £15 all in and with fees its max £20 and 1300 calories which is more than enough for an evening meal.

Hey fat boy maybe you don’t need to supersize every meal. A burrito is like $15, so is a salad.

Maybe this is why everyone who works in this industry is 20 pounds overweight

The fees add a ton. Chipotle meal with guac hits the 30 dollar limit on ubereats

Idc about what the 99% does. I want a higher stipend

I recommend getting a subscription membership to minimize the amount of fees that you have to pay (worth it if you do take-outs often at home).

In Manhattan, 30 dollar gets you a bowl of ramen with dry noodles and old meat. Nothing more. You need 100 dollar to have a proper, nutrition-balanced, freshly-made meal. If you want awesome taste, rare meat, and good service, it can easily go upwards to 500 dollar.

Don’t listen to the people above telling you to pick up your food every night - order off ubereats or grub hub during the winter if you’re in NYC/CHI/BOS (7 months).

It’s bizarre how many people who have never worked or lived in NYC are commenting with zero frame of reference to food prices.

yes a chipotle burrito with fees and delivery is very close to $25 on seamless.

you probably have to pick up your dinner to get under $25 limit for dinner, which can be a pain with some of the NYC office locations.

I have Dash Pass in New York City which is $8/mo (I pay yearly) but it probably saves me like $50/mo and more importantly allows me to get enough food on the stipend 4-5 nights a week. At Chipotle on DoorDash, a burrito bowl and a bag of chips with salsa comes out to about $18 subtotal. After fee and tax you get to about $21 total. Add a $3 tip and I’m at $24. I’ve ordered all kinds of food and never struggle to stay below the stipend limit.
