Advice: M&A to SS / Event Driven Recruitment (No RX / Debt Experience)
Hey all, would really welcome advice from people who have either made the switch from M&A to SS / Event Driven / Distressed stuff or are in the process of recruiting. Bonus points if they are based in Europe. My background includes a few years of M&A experience at well known boutique (EB) but 90% of the work I have done has been sponsor sell-sides with the odd buyside.
Will the lack of public / strategic M&A and RX make the move impossible? For those who moved from M&A (not RX) how was the move and what was your experience like (prior to moving)? What would you advise for one to prepare? Was there less traction from known shops vs. unknown shops given the lack of RX?
