Yeap it's true. The guy's full of himself, we went to the same college.

Why is everyone making fun of this guy? Not commenting on the fact of if this union could or couldnt work or whatever but based on the fact juniors post rants every other day about the working conditions and how people are depressed, unhealthy etc.. but when someone tries to fight back you guys just laugh. Isnt he to some extent trying to help you? Doesnt matter what bank hes at it will start a new page for ib working conditions regardless

What is there not to make fun of?  No joke, I saw the name of this thread and coughed on my drink because I wasn't ready for something so funny.

Go on analysts, form a union.  Better yet, promote it on WSO whose content is a nonstop reminder of how many talented, hardworking kids are ready to do your job if you don't want it.  Fight the power!

You’re crazy…

First of all, this guy is helping you too and if you think it’s normal to be fired when you need surgery then think again.

Secondly, you think it’s that seamless to replace people in banking ? Sure, there’s people who want to lateral but:

1) the top performers are not going to lateral and even less to some MM bank

2) Junior analysts are basically useless for the first 6 months and still very very junior until 1.5 yrs in unless they’re superstars

The time and money wasted on recruiting and training is not trivial - as an Associate, I could expand my capacity by at least 30% if not more depending on whether I work with a bad analyst or a good one

We're making fun of him because it's a fucking union.  That should be a third rail issue, full stop.

Private sector unions are a death cult that kill every single industry that they come into contact with (a current notable example being online publishing).  "High Finance" in the 21st century is going to have enough of a challenge just staying ahead of all the waves of tech that are coming to compete away its margins, if they suddenly have to also deal with leftist junior bankers the whole industry is fucking toast.  Unions are parasites that kill the host.

Not trying to stoke the flames but just want to offer some clarity:

The circumstances around this person as an employee / being let go as presented by him and others are NOT accurate

The unionizing stuff is not actually real, this individual is simply posting things in a frenzy

Please do not pour on a person who clearly needs some actual help right now

Mental health crisis (think Manic Episode, Paranoid Schizophrenia, Crack Addiction)

would never work. too many non target "strivers" who would gladly do their MDs laundry for them everyday to "break in".  people have very little self respect in this industry.

granted, i would LOVE to see one of those inflatable rats outside a IB headquarters in midtown with a bunch of dorky looking hardos in patagonia vests and cole haans shouting and yelling nearby.    I would actually pay money to see it.

Not sure what unionizing an analyst class means but some advice:

You and your analyst class should absolutely be close with each other and everyone should either help each other or set the standard for how you guys will act. For example, if you all decide to go into office at 9:30am, then that’s better than some people going in at 8:30, some at 9, some at 9:30, as it makes the people who show up on time look like they’re late.

I understand the whole comradery thing but listen... if I want to roll in at 8am because I'm a morning person then I'm going to roll in at 8am. If I leave at 6pm, Im leaving at 6pm because I want to.

I will help my fellow analysts crank slides but Im not going to alter my schedule and purposely make my wlb worse to not make someone else look bad.

This is what an anti-competition, bottom-bucket cuck would say.

OP is 100% the kid that tried to start this ‘union’. Absolute loser and a complete idiot lmao. Have fun finding a job after this, kid has been spam posting on linkden, absolute laughingstock (highly recommend everyone go check it out)

Come all of you good workers
Good news to you I'll tell
Of how that good old union
Has come in here to dwell

Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

My daddy was a banker
And I'm a banker's son
And I'll stick with the union
Till every battle's won

Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

They say in Wall Street County
There are no neutrals there
You'll either be a union man
Or a thug for R.W. Baird

Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

Oh, workers can you stand it?
Oh, tell me how you can
Will you be a lousy scab
Or will you be a man?

Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

Don't scab for the bosses
Don't listen to their lies
Us poor folks haven't got a chance
Unless we organize

Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

Good luck with that.
