The group isn't in NYC yet. It's going to be a new group from what I've heard. Most of their HC is based in Houston and (I think) Atlanta.

So you won't find any info on the NYC group because as of a week ago, there were no HC bankers in NYC (at least this is what head of recruiting told me)

ive talked to friends that work at both HLHZ NY and LA. 80 hours is not the standard. Im talking an average of 90-100 hours a week with 110+ being common

So, you have talked to friends?

If you look at the other posters on here who work for the larger banks they are putting in similar hours, so are they not a sweatshop also? 110+ is not common at Houlihan but some weeks can push that and you will find that at a lot of places. Some weeks in the year might be that, but that is standard practice across the street. For some reason, the people at Houlihan might complain more for whatever reason, but from my sources and intelligence, they have comparable hours.

If I worked at MS or GS and put in 90-100 hrs/week, would it also be a sweatshop?

yeah i mean youre gonna work crazy anywhere. Ive just heard some horror stories from there and other banks as well. So at the end of the day you just gotta know what youre getting yourself into.

Fair?

90 hrs a week and get paid well? What is the big deal. What would you do if you were working on the ship dock in Africa 6 days a week for an equivalent salary of 10 dollars with no benefits (health insurance...) Appreciate what you have and be humble. I don't mind working hard and get paid well.

Good luck guys
