Somehow I think the banks are a little brighter than that. They used to pay 80-90k CAD base, but that was so they could hire talent into those office that would otherwise go for the better experience in New York (deal flow etc, power players, etc.) at 60k USD. Now that the currency has broken parity, it'll pressure salaries down in Canada, since you don't have to pay 'em as much to get the same spending power. I wouldn't look at the crash of the US dollar as much of a boon to foreign offices of US firms.
Who cares. It's peanuts in the long run anyways. US BB offices will get hurt because the large comp differential from Canadian banks is a big selling point. They have already re-pegged the bonus, and I'm pretty sure they are re-pegging base for summer recruiting. At the same time, it's not like a bank needs stellar analysts to make money and the branch offices generally focus more on coverage.
If the foreign offices are profitable, the same pays will be made. They're not going to decrease analyst pay, at least not in the next few years, just to get it in line with the currency.
It's peanuts in the long run. But since so many here thinks about a 2 year stint only, it really matters. At this stage of my life 2 years is a long time.

US analyst pay is the lowest and will be for the next 5 years, along with any city that pegs itself to it.
don't BBs in Toronto pay 80-90k base?
