Lazard Restruc. Chicago

Hi guys - any insight into life at Lazard Restructuring in Chicago - this is for a post-MBA associate position, but also appreciate any specific insights into culture, deal flow etc.

Also - any opinions on exit couple years down the line?

Use the search function. It's your friend.

If you're recruiting for post-MBA, then you should know that exit opp's are much less structured, and the expectation is that you stay in banking for a good while. At the analyst level, however, Lazard restructuring chicago places pretty well into HF's, and I'm sure it'd open doors for PE as well.

I have a friend in that office/team. There are a couple of high profile transactions they're working on. One would be the Tribune Company. Talked to him recently, says their culture is great. Seems like their hours aren't nearly bad as NYC office. Chicago offices, in general, seem to have great work environments. Definitely a solid group.

Thank you Ronald.

And I was interest in current information, and with regards to exit opps, I was hoping to get an idea on what the post-MBA lateral scene was like these days. I know that times are tough all around, and I am basically trying to get a handle on which b-school internship opportunities are worth pursuing from a time/effort perspective.

I'm not sure what you mean by post-MBA lateral, do you mean going to a BB after your MBA? Lazard's restructuring is top notch. In terms of PE placement, I'm not too sure about firms like KKR, and Carlyle, but their exit ops seem pretty solid. He told me he already had an offer for a PE firm and has multiple interviews lined up. Hope this helps.
