the idea that MJ=GOAT is an idea that shouldn't be quite as sarcosanct when Lebron is playing on a ridiculous team and has 6 years left in his prime (and that many potential rings coming up)....
The only thing I disagree with is that MJ played some pretty incredible defense too (he seems to overlook that), just didn't have highlight reel chasedown blocks nightly because Lebron is 3 inches taller.
This is blown way out of proportion. No doubt about it -- Jordan was THE best scorer the NBA has ever seen. If you have any doubt about that, watch Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals. To call LBJ a "better player" isn't as much a shot at Jordan as it is a compliment of Bron's unique skill set. We know he won't disclose his weight -- the NBA listed number is inaccurate. with shoes, the dude is almost 6' 9", probably 275 pounds, and runs close to a 4.3 40 time. He's got the court vision of Magic, and is a unique blend of players who came before him. Today, players are simply stronger, faster, and the athleticism is off the charts. No one would debate that Jordan is the best player ever in NBA history -- but remember how his work ethic was. The dude was a psycho in competitive sense. Mad driven + incredible gifts. LBJ has the potential to be the best TALENT the NBA has ever seen, but people blow the Jordan comparisons way out of proportion. Every time a player makes a "leap" the discussion has to be had by mainstream media. Whether it was Kobe from 2009 - 2010, Wade during the 2005-2006 NBA playoffs, or LeBron now.
LOL I love when people throw stats out like they know for a fact what X pro player who they have never met has done.
come on dude above? you really think Lebron runs a 4.3 40? I guess you were never an athlete or have never run the 40 time. Not to mak fun of you but that is total BS. Plus I am pretty sure the NBA does not measure that statistic for their players.

4.3. is kind of a stretch but i would confidently say high 4.4 because he was an all state reviever in high school
I'm more upset about Skip Bayless saying Pippen is not top 50. If I could put one guy in a chokehold and drink his tears as he cries, it'd be Skip...
He just says that to be controversial.
Like when Dirk had that 48 point game. He was flawless right? On the next day, he's all like the OKC defenders gifted him everything, etc. Yeah, OK to an extent but he still had to make those 24 FT.

Guy's an idiot. Worse than Colin Cowherd.
Exactly. I absolutely loathe Colin as well. Just complete clowns.

Every night he went out, Jordan was both the best offensive and defensive player on the court, without any real size or speed advantages. He was the fiercest leader out there and would do anything to win. LeBron is an athletic freak but there will never be anyone that played the game like Jordan. As someone who used to watch every bulls game growing up, I can tell you the awe everyone had watching him.
You also have to understand that for the entire 90's, every year he started the season in a Bulls jersey, he ended it soaked in champagne, smoking a cigar.
Scotties being ridiculous, I think he has forgotten why he has all those rings.
It's not like MJ won six rings all by himself. I doubt MJ would've won any without Scottie. In fact the Pippen-led Bulls were one bad foul call away from returning to the finals in 1994. The Rockets didn't have Clyde yet, so I think the Bulls would've been the favorites in that series.
I played against Matt Bonner in a high school AAU tourney and, at that time, I thought he was the most ridiculous player I had ever seen, hahaha. Can't imagine playing against The King.

That is the ridiculous thing about AAU basketball, you can play against some dude who is absolutely disgusting...then they go to the league and they are just an average player. This leads me to believe that few people really understand how talented some of these professional athletes are....

I was saying this because of this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/37846-lebron-james-what-if
Misquoted the 4.3 part. 4.4 it was -- tested him in high school.
