Warburg Pincus 2021 FT Analyst
I've heard Warburg Pincus is starting to kick off 2021 full-time recruiting for analysts out of undergrad. Has anyone heard anything/have any updates?

Did everyone get the website link?
What's the link if you are able to share it? did not get it
Bump
Do you go to a target? I am not sure how to get this link
I go to a target, and it was distributed to my school's business club.
can you please send the Warburg Pincus link?
Anyone know what their interviews are like?
y'all are fast asf on this forum wtf lolol
following, does anyone know what schools they hire from
usual targets
Confirmed, emphasis on W / M
OP what did you hear about them kicking off? Have networked but have not heard anything as of yet
Is this fund good? I got an email but don't know anything about them, have Apax interview and wondering if this is better than that
ayfkm
how does WP compare to other PE firms that have analyst programs?
A pre-requisite for getting an offer there is that you know how to use google, so there’s no need for you to worry about this
Deleted
Did you already get an interview?
First round was not technical at all. More focused on your thought process
Are they recruiting for India / China offices?
From the website seems like it is only recruiting for USA - not sure there are spots for SF / HOU
If anyone has some insight into when first rounds go out that would be greatly appreciated!
Had a first round last year in mid June
If anyone knows how broadly first rounds go out, how many, if targets or non targets get interviews, etc would be super helpful
Networking is really important, I've heard they value that even for non-targets
anyone know if semi/non targets have an actual shot or if they’re pretty set on targets?
Think it's effectively only targets
Could anyone share anything about hours or comp/how it compares to EB, other MF?
interested

See above - Marcus Halberstram's comment has it correct, from friends who work there.
Can corroborate a few points: - Comp is not great - Great B-school placement into H/S (more so in the top industry groups) - Hours range significantly from great to near Apollo levels, again depending on industry group
Which are the top industry groups you are referring to?
What is A1 comp?
wharton reaccs only
Are they're hiring for Aerospace team?
I'm assuming that falls under Industrials? Seems they are hiring per below post
Confirmed - for context, when I recruited for it a few years ago, they recruited for IBS (best known for Transdigm and the continuation fund for the security business) and TMT (best known for Crowdstrike).
anyone know how many FT analysts they take?
3-4
FYI - 3 of the 4 analysts they took last year were from wharton...lol
Where was the fourth from?
harvard..
think they took a uva guy last year
Yup - consistent with what I've heard that they reserve 2 (now 3 spots) for Wharton, and the rest are completely open. Linkedin seems to confirm this - last year (2019 analyst class) 2 W, previous years 3 & 3. Not sure about the year before that.
yup they did. i knew him, dude was a tank. well deserved but surprising considering UVA rarely sends people straight to PE
How much training do they offer is it as good as BB training or do they throw you out there and make you learn on the job
Not speaking on behalf of the firm but it would be my assumption that there is minimal training, if any. The reason most PE firms recruit out of banks as opposed to undergrad is because they typically want people who are ready to hit the ground running.
Spoke to an analyst and she said that she expected more training. Basically you have to chase after it so wouldn't think it's on part with a BB.
Is info for the program on their website/online?
If you're at a target, link should have been emailed out - I go to W, was emailed by WITG.
Anyone have info on lifestyle / hours at warburg?
Others would be more reliable, but I briefly dated a girl who was a first year associate when I was a first year analyst, and she had much more free time than I did - seemed like 60-70 hours, her superiors understanding of occasional commitments (ex-live deals).
"I date older girls"
Some good tidbits on this thread https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/carlyle-tpg-apollo-2021-pe-analy…
Anyone know what the video call first rounds are like? Have mine later this week
Also interested - did you network beforehand?
Yup - had networking with two of the analysts, they didn't say what this would be about though.
when did you apply and what were your stats to get a first round, I applied last Friday and did not hear anything
Has anybody else heard anything back?
I'm cut (high 3.8, EB, male) but have a friend (female) who got it, high 3.8, both W.
did they send you anything to indicate (thank you for your interest...) or was first rounds all sent out today?
Has anyone from another school (not Wharton) heard back?
Has anyone from Harvard heard back?
I have some friends still at Harvard, from what I've heard they've all been cut
i've heard back, not W/H but usual traditional target, 3.9+, BB/EB/PE internship
did you network? same boat
First round this week (W, 3.95+ GPA, Male), networked with analysts and associates.
Do groups do this independently (i.e., person that reached out is the group that they are recruiting for) or are first rounds group-agnostic?
I asked in my interview and heard it's group agnostic at this stage in the process, I think you get sorted into your group of choice in later rounds.
Does anyone have an idea about the timeline? First rounds this week and then what?
just to be clear - apps are rolling? applied on May 26 and havent heard back rip. 3.8 GPA at H/W (female) with soph PE internship and junior EB and think i got cut lol
I'm pretty sure Harvard only got sent the website information last week
Believe 3.8 with no networking usually means a cut from most MF analyst programs. For associate your stats will land you a lot of options FWIW.
Not to be mean... but with grade inflation at H and ease of business classes at W... a 3.8 is really quite low...
Ease of business classes at Wharton?? You obviously don’t go there or know anyone who does LOL
But keeping doing you, prospect in other
Ease of classes curved to a ~3.1?
Think everyone can agree that grade inflation at H is rampant - especially in Applied Math / Econ majors, modal grade is often A- / A
Everyone knows that grade inflation at H is a joke. Don't think they will treat a 3.8 at H the same as at W where classes are curved as stated above....
Work at another firm and can confirm this - bar for a "good" GPA is higher at H, lower at places like Chicago or Princeton.
What is the bar like? ex. 3.9 at H vs 3.7 at Chicago or Princeton? curious how much difference there is between H and other schools
Do they hire from Columbia? Never receive the email.
I went to P - interviewed last year, but had to network given its not a core school for them
Do they tell you if you didn't make the bar
Had interview earlier this week and haven't yet heard
Same boat. Would really appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on the process.
My interviewer told me that we probably should hear back in the next couple of weeks but that timeline isn't set in stone since they're still figuring stuff out about digital recruiting/superdays
Heard the same (1-2 week is the timeframe)
hey do u mind IM'ing me, kind of want to compare experiences re warburg interview process
pm me, interviewed last week
Have you heard back yet? I had my interview last week too but I haven't heard back yet
I applied this week and received an email today about an interview for next week
Do you mind sharing what day you applied this week? I also applied this week but don't think anyone has opened my email yet.
feel free to dm and we can chat!
Does anyone know what the interview process looks like? Deep financial technicals or heavily case based?
Cases
Did anyone hear back after the first round re a second round or saying thank you for your interest?
The process timing can vary. Some people may hear back quickly, while others may take longer but not necessarily be cut.
If we've applied and have yet to get a first round can we assume at this point that we're cut?
If anyone has heard back after first round please respond to this comment (I haven't heard back).
Had a first call, Have another call soon
when did you have your first round? is this explicitly a second round or a networking call
When did you hear back about a second call? Did anyone else hear about a second call?
When did you submit your resume?
Can you provide some colour on what your first call was like? Was it similar to a banking first round? Or just a resume walk?
Applied early last week, but haven't heard back about an interview yet. Any other non-targets in the same boat even after networking? Would appreciate if anyone had insight on the process.
Did you get an email from HR after submitting? Or no response?
Yea, got an email hbu?
Yep, got the generic email back saying "If you are among qualified candidates, a member of our recruitment team will contact you directly" rip
Trying to get a better idea here, are people getting second rounds? If we had a first round last week but haven't heard back, does that mean we're cut?
i had a first round late last week and still havent heard back... it looks like one person on this forum has gotten a second round but unclear on the timing of his or her first round.
Lol this job just showed up on my school's Handshake today (target but prob not a target for the firm), I wonder if they are still looking at resumes.
Yeah this makes no sense. It just came up as a posting, but people are getting second rounds... if I applied about a week ago and didn't hear back am I cut?
I got an interview a few hours ago so first rounds are still coming out
how were the interviews? did they do paper LBO or some shit?
