Useful Applications and Tools
What apps and tools does your company use and do you find the most useful? I work in real estate investment management and here's a few of mine off the top of my head:
Task Management - Asana
Email/Calendar/Contacts/Document Collab - Google Apps
CRM - Highrise
Document Management - Egnyte
Screen Sharing - Join.Me
Remote Access - LogMeIn
Virtual Fax - Myfax.com
Conference Calls - Uberconference
Notes - One Note
PDF Tools - PDF Sam and Adobe Acrobat
GeoMapping - BatchGeo
Market Data - REIS (for rent comps and market reports) and Real Capital Analytics (for transaction comps)
Cash Flow Modeling - Argus
Construction Data - RSMeans
Investment Management / Fund Admin - Resolvetech
Property Management - Morningstar
Maps: mapsengine (google) scribblemaps (google) Getting info out of PDF docs: Scraperwiki or Openrefine (though I can't figure out how to use either yet)
Rsmeans sucks. Unless you pay for it. I need an accurate free source.
We pay for RSMeans square foot estimator which is fairly inexpensive and accurate for what it is. I've crosschecked it with verified construction costs.
Yeah, I don't find RSMeans to be accurate enough to make acquisitions. If you need cost estimates for lending or on a general basis for sure.
I use the majority of the apps you mentioned. Surprisingly we don't work for the same company haha.
