Becoming a Crude Oil Scheduler
Have been trying to get into scheduling and have a general understanding of how physical trading works but want to focus more on the specifics of moving liquids for an opportunity that came up. I know this firm will rotate you across trucking, barge, and pipeline from speaking to someone internally. I am trying to get a sense for how nominations work and their timing (monthly for liquids vs 5-time daily cycle for nat gas) as well as the process for ensuring the proper specs are sent to the counterparty. They will teach you on the desk. I have yet to find any kind of publication with nomination rules etc etc. Also sometimes the nomination procedure depends on the GTCs agreed between the two traders.
No one expects someone without experience to actually know the nomination process and timings tbh.
