CFA® Situation
I am graduating in May and have accepted a S&T FT offer at a BB. I am planning on traveling around Europe between graduation and the start of my analyst stint. However, I could get sponsored by a professor to take Level 1 of the CFA®
in June (I would only have to pay for study materials and put in the study hours).
My question:
Should I seize the carp? Or forgo the opportunity?
Enjoy the time off man, you have the rest of your life to get that CFA if you want it.
I would say forgo. It's also probably going to be a pain to study for classes and level 1 at the same time, especially since finals will coincide when you should be finishing up the CFA material and doing practice exams.
travel. if you don't travel while you have time (aka don't have a career yet), you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
Appreciate the advice, guys.
The bank will probably pay for your CFA in the future anyway
Travel, Europe (and especialy France :p) is wonderful.
Take the chance to travel. You won't have the opportunity again after launching your career, so let the exams and Chartered Financial Banalyst wait for awhile. Conquer Europe and see if it doesn't convince you it was the right idea.
