1st Phone Interview w/ VC MD
Guys - I haven't had a proper interview since on-campus recruiting a few years back. Any thoughts on what to expect would be appreciated.
It's a small fund that invests in early stage biopharma and technology. Thanks!

BUMP!
Read up on current biopharma and technology news. Know your financials. Think up questions beforehand. Don't be awkward. :p
Thanks - what financials do you mean? I was under the impression that VCs tend to focus less on technicals during their interviews. My background is in strategy consulting, if that means anything.
Just basic stuff that you're probably looking into already if you're interested in this. Investing in tech, market sizes, stuff like that.
Mind you this is all second-hand advice. A friend of mine does VC and we talk a good bit because I am jealous/interested.
If someone else has first-hand advice that contradicts, feel free.
Good luck!
Know trends in the industry, their portfolio companies (and have an opinion on what you think of them), companies that are interesting (once again, HAVE AN OPINION and back it up).
In terms of financial stuff, it's nice to know info about cap tables, term sheets, valuing an early-stage company (maybe not the exact methodology, but at least a general idea how it'd be done), know the important things on financial statements that VC's will look at (i.e., cash burn)
Here's a YouTube presentation sponsored by Wharton on Life Science VCs. I watched it a while back but from what I remember the presenter gives some good background on the Life Science VC industry and what makes it different from traditional VC and then goes into a case study on one of their investments.
