Went from pulling in BBs,MMs and Consulting firms to struggling to get PWM.

Since graduating this year, I've been pending permanent residency since May. Whilst pending permanent residency, I couldn't work or perform paid/unpaid internships because of the regulations. I can't leave my current location and look for work elsewhere in the US because I had pending government documents that were being processed.

Whilst my green card was pending I interviewed at tons of places 9/12 were final round, got dinged from all final round interviews, because HR would rather have a full fledged permanent resident that one that was pending.

Got green card this month, October, been applying everywhere and reaching out to alum. Everybody gets nervous because on paper, it looks like I have been unemployed for 5/6 months, however it was out of my control.

Originally wanted to do MSF, but I can't afford it, got tons of debt from undergrad. Since graduating I have been studying for CFA level 1 and GMAT (scoring 680 on practice GMATs)

My situation is depressing because I feel like it has ruined any chance I had at getting a decent respectable finance job

Sounds like you need a slumpbuster. Everyone has a hot streak where they pull 9s and 10s consistently, often times followed by a cold streak where even what once seemed like a layup will no longer drop. What you need to do is get you a certified slumpbuster, I'm talking a 2" tap-in type. Someone who when seen in the light of day would make you cringe in fear. This will effectively break your cold streak and give you the confidence you need to get back out there and pull dimes again. Godspeed

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

Agree, your confidence is all shot out, you need something to spike it and get your mojo back
