3-4 weeks since Bain final round - No decision

So I had my final round at Bain 3-4 weeks ago and still haven't gotten a decision. I know people who have been rejected from the same office, and one person who was accepted (the day of his interview). So what is most likely going on? It blows me away that it's taken this long, as I haven't had to wait this long for a decision from any other firm, and Bain has previously been extremely quick and open in this whole process.

I keep being told that it will take a little longer (last time was last week). It is frustrating, and is honestly souring me a little bit on the company... If it wasn't such a strong first choice going into this process I would have just accepted another offer by now.

Sorry about that, if you don't get a response by Wednesday next week, call them the following day. If it's still the same bs, I would move on. You have been more than patient.

It sucks sure, but.... 1. You probably don't have any other offers from McK or Bcg or you'd have taken those 2. Bain knows that so they know they have you by the nuts 3. If they give you an offer you will take it so again, they have you by the nuts 4. If they didn't like you, you'd have been dinged by now. No one waits to ding a clear no.

Yeah, seems about right. I wish they would be a little more honest with me, but I guess they hold all the power in this situation.

Dude fuck that. MBB might be top, but if you know you're good and have potential to add value, you should be communicating that to the other side. Try to take control of the situation rather than letting other people move you around by the balls.

This is for summer, right? Don't screw your chances for ft next year by getting pushy. Your time to control things was in interviews. Stay positive and make sure they see that no matter the outcome. Unless you have another offer you will actually take you have no leverage and even then they can very easily fill your spot.

Waitlisted? Had that experience interviewing for IBD (did end up getting the offer after waiting about 3 weeks).

People tend to think life is a race with other people. They don't realize that every moment they spend sprinting towards the finish line is a moment they lose permanently, and a moment closer to their death.

I'm suspecting that I am, although I've yet to hear any official notice. I interviewed the 29th of October, and I figure if I don't get a rejection today (and obviously no offer), then I'm on the waitlist. I wonder how long they'll keep us waiting..

I'd wait another month or two before you email HR and ask if you're on the waitlist yet
