a question about SEO

  1. How long should one expect to wait for a 1st round interview after submitting the application?
  2. The first round interviews are almost always by phone right? Are there ever surprise interviews like "You're scheduled for tomorrow at 2" or do they give more notice like 1-2 weeks in advance?

Thanks!

  1. The timeline is on the website. Unless you are pre-selected as a "preferred candidate" (and thus are given an "accelerated process"), you should hear according to the date given. 2.The first round intvw is by phone. If you get it, they will send you a link w/ a login and pass to a secret website where you can schedule your interview at a time that is convenient.

Aspiring_Consultant is correct. From what I remember, SEO doesn't schedule surprise interviews in the way bigbilly2312 was describing.

Koleon, those accepted to SEO-Investment Banking (NY) are placed in Manhattan to intern for bulge bracket investment banks. I did the program this past summer and would be more than happy to provide any further insight.

Hi bluefinancer,

I've been considering whether or not to apply to the SEO program. The issue for me is that I do not want to be placed into any bulge bracket. I am striving for GS or MS because I've spoken to many people there and I really seem to like it.

Considering the above, do you think it would be wise for me to apply for SEO or no if I was targeting 2 very specific BBs?

Thanks!
