Aiming for GS/MS/JPM PWM

in a magic land IBD would be doable. In this land, PWM is what my SA gig is for a junior and therefore I am looking for PWM at GS/MS/JPM. I will be SA at DB/UBS/CS this summer. Let me know what you think. Any chance I can woo the big boys?

Real difficult to say but it looks like you did a god job tailoring your experience to working within the Financia sector (analyzing shooter cards, leadership/promotion, management etc.).

What I really wanted to say is your most recent experience sounds sweet - Not that I am in the position to do so but I would bring you in for an interview just to talk through some points on your resume through genuine interest which should help your chances

Spending time with family doesn't sound too professional.

This is a stupid comment.

It may be insensitive, but it doesn't mesh well with a firm that expects you pull long hours all the time.

I get the concern. However, I am not beating my own drum, but I was in the Marine Infantry for 8 years and did my share of deployments and even more time away training for deployments. If the banks think 18 hour days is new to me, or somehow by me displaying that when I am around I enjoy time with my wife and children is a weakness then I am not sure what else I can do. Nothing against banking hours, but they dont even compare to the lifestyle of Marine Infantry workload, specifically during a time of war

I understand what you're saying but there's a difference between listing some hobbies/interests and listing your priorities. It's not as if he says spending 6pm and later with his family...It shows that he's human and has an interest outside of finance. They'll expect a ton of work out of him but I'd rather spend 80-100 hrs/week with someone who says they like spending time with family over the kid who says they love to build models for their PA on the weekend.

Personally, I think you have a shot at IBD. At the very least, assuming a good GMAT, you could get into a pretty good MBA --> IBD/consulting/whatever

EDIT: oh I see, this summer's PWM job is the junior/senior year internship. regardless, you clearly have your shit together. whatever you choose to do, i'm sure you'll be good to go. good luck.
