I applied to four schools already. Decision deadlines are in early to mid-December (12/7-12/18). If I retook the GMAT on Nov. 20 and informed schools, would that be a game changer, or would decisions already be set in stone?

Depends on the school. You're going to have to ask each one. I know some that are accommodating and others that aren't.
