Relocation Bonuses for New Analysts (MM S&T) (Originally Posted: 03/26/2013)
I was wondering if anyone knew when the relocation bonuses are typically paid out for 1st-year analysts starting this summer? Is this done after you start full-time or prior to the start date to actually assist with moving expenses?
I'm working in S&T at a mid-market bank. My start date is in July 2013. I saw other threads with this topic, but mostly all back a few years, so I was hoping someone might know information more current to this year. Thanks!
It will probably depend on your bank but I will get mine roughly 1 month before I am supposed to start working in July to help with the moving expenses.
Shouldn't that have been in your contract? I'm in a pretty similar situation (sent you a PM) and my contract stated that I would get mine after completing a background check. It took about a month and a half after I signed the original contract.

I wanted to confirm with fellow incoming analysts whether they have received their signing bonus yet. I've heard we receive it the 1st week of April but could be wrong. Thanks.
I got mine on March 25th; an email was sent saying it'd be mailed on the 24th, so you should get it soon if not already. Enjoy the tax bite- I ended up with around $6150 after taxes.

Question re: FT relocation & housing (Originally Posted: 12/05/2009)
For those who have gone through the process of relocating to start at a BB in NY, do you know what the procedure is for relocation and housing?
Specifically, will the bank pay for your air fare (as they do for SA relocation), and will it provide accommodation during training even if you'll be working in the NY office?
I've heard conflicting information on both subjects so I was hoping to get some definitive answers from someone who has gone through this. If it matters, this is an American BB based in NY.
The general rule of thumb is that the company will tell you in your offer letter exactly what is included. Some will pay you a straight up signing or relocation bonus and you will be on your own to pay for all relocation. Others will state that you are allowed two house-hunting flights, the ability to hire a moving company to move personal materials and a vehicle, etc. Some give you nothing.
Basically, you should re-read your offer letter as the information is most likely contained in it. If it isn't, I suggest you simply pick up the phone and call Human Resources. That's what they are there for.

I am trying to find out what banks are paying associates for relocation expenses this year.
Between which two cities are you moving? Relocation expenses are larger for international transfers.
I got a 2k relocation for a move within the US

During my SA, it was 1 month before starting too.

I think within the next few weeks. Got a call from HR about a week ago asking for which address to ship the check to. This is MM, btw.
1 month typically
thanks for the help!
Why wouldn't you just ask HR?
