Intern vs. Analyst
Hi,
I recently accepted a job offer at a small private equity firm. The official job title written in the offer letter is "Analyst," but it is an internship. Also, I am able to extend the internship into the spring semester, so it would look like I worked there about 6-8 months.
Many parts of the offer letter state "your job as an analyst.."
What do I put on my resume? Private Equity Intern, or Private Equity Analyst?

Also in a similar situation, noticed most of the guys who had the same position as I did just put Private Equity Analyst Intern. I think it is the most logical way to describe it, as you are an intern and your title should reflect that, but your role resembles an analyst position and required skill set.

I looked up some of the interns on linkedin and they use "Private Equity Analyst." It seems kinda deceptive in my opinion.
That was my thought process as well, anyone mislead by thinking you held an analyst role can get frustrated and it may make you seem qualified for positions in which you are not. The full title mentioned earlier is a little wordy but I think it is the best way to fully explain your title. Hope that helps!

Hi,I have got an internship this Dec(derivatives at a top tier BB) and now I am interviewed for a full-time position(IB at another top tier BB).
I still yet to have my final interview for the full-time position, but they have ring back and said would arrange a second interview(which has been postponed again and again because they suddenly got many deals). In my last interview with them, I answered I was not interviewed by other firms. In the next round, should I tell them I have got the internship? Will this damp my chance or imporve my chance? Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.
It really depends...banks like candidates that are hot commodities---but on the other hand your internship is not IB related, so it may look like you aren't focused which will hurt you.
maybe reveal your internship after you got the offer as a bargaining chip?
How do you have a december internship? Is it a couple week-long internship over christmas? I didn't even know banks offered these...

So my contract says I am an intern, it is not for 3 months though, it is for a year.
I do not feel like an intern though, or do an intern's work. For example right now I am sitting doing a pitch all by myself for my Manager's trip to country X; and this is not my first pitch in my short 4 months i have been here. This is also not a grad program since i do not have a mentor / buddy / whatever you want to call it.
Anyway with recruitment doors opening in Autumn , I wanna apply for a full time analyst position, the tricky question what should I call the position in my resume ??
Intern : Dilute the amount of work I am carrying out here
Analyst : Being called fraudelent/ decieving , ....etc. by HR if i get an offer in another firm !!
Anybody has any pointers on this ??

Let the bullets do the speaking--titles are not everything. The last thing you want is for the HR folk to do a background screening call post-offer with this company and then failing it because of semantics.
