Anyone have a guide to Fall Recruitment? IBD

For those of us Juniors in undergrad just starting Junior year I realize that next summer is really make it or break time in getting into IBD.

I would really appreciate a sense of a time-table for recruitment for the SA classes at boutiques and BBs.

Is it October - Nov. recruitment January - interviews May - August - SA

If none of the school recruit at your college, what do you do? I'm guessing a internet resume drop and application is pretty useless. What is the process like and how do you do it?

WSO help us out.

If you're at a target, just network at the info sessions and use resume drops

If you're at a nontarget, then network your ass off and get someone internal to pass your resume

Time table is ASAP i.e. start sending emails now.

No, VP's will mostly be busy traveling, managing, etc and mostly won't want to give two shits about you (MD's even less so). Analysts and associates will be your best bet... they do the actual passing

Even if you're at a target, this is pretty helpful for hitting those top-tier firms that take smaller classes (Blackstone, Greenhill). It'll definitely reduce the volatility of getting / doing well in an interview

Wow I had no idea, Analyst even mattered in passing resumes along.

Thank you I will get right on it. I thought only MDs mattered. At mergers and inquisitons it gives you advice on planning a day trip up to NYC to network. Is it worth it to do this to meet Analysts as well as Associates?

Thanks for the advice!

yes, it is def. worth it. i've done two in the past month and a half and it will help, especially if you're form a non target.
