App suggestions
Hey all, I have finally decided to pull the trigger and get an iPhone4. I hate my blackberry and don't want a droid. Basically, what I'm trying to say is my decision is made up as far as the phone goes. My question is, are there any cool apps out there that are under the radar? I've looked at a few of the 'top apps' type sites but I figured some of you would have a couple good suggestions for stuff I didnt know I couldnt live without.
Drinks Pro
Easily maneuverable app for the recipes of almost every imaginable cocktail, mixed drink, shooters, etc.
In conjunction, Beer Brands is a great app too.
And after writing this, I realize that I may have a drinking problem.
Cheers.
what interests you?
I have several music apps, the best being: MusicID (identifies songs and pulls them up on itunes), Guitar toolkit (tuner, chord library, metronome, fretboard with 105 scales), Relative Pitch (ear training), I Am T-Pain (autotune, f-ing hilarious)
lifestyle apps: Zagat to go, Pandora, VintageChart, iWhiskey, Scotch (if you want to know a lot about distilleries and such and come across as a connoisseur, instead of a lush) LocalConcerts, Flixster, Apple Store
business/financial: DocsToGo (app for reading and editing Microsoft office and adobe products), my banks + Stocks, and Bloomberg, although IMO stocks is a more intuitive app.
And books. Lots and lots of books
^How easy is it to read a book on an iPhone though...the screen isnt exactly huge
Def. not harder than reading WSO lol you can adjust font size to your comfort level, no strain, and if you are too lazy to "flip" pages, you can also set a scroll rate to match your reading pace.
I mainly read when i'm flying.
Jesus a scroll rate...thats some startrek shit...I get the impression that I am never going to be able to not have an iPhone ever again
ok, this is lame, but i also have RealScale: Surface level, GPS, Spirit Level, digital angle gauge, angle measuring thing, measuring tape, magnometer (have no idea what it is for), decibel meter, weather station (pretty much a thermometer), calipers, battery meter, digital scale (up to 200 grams), and a flashlight (pretty much bright screen for minor tasks)
WhatsApp = free iphone cross platform 'bbm' service - particularly key with friends outside of the country Bloomberg app Got my Air Canada and Air France apps for easy checkin Kayak for cheap flight browsing Google Earth for fun LOLcats Skype (free calls over 3G) Tango (Facetime over 3G :))
Truphone if you travel a lot and want to make calls when you're overseas. I'd also ask you to get mobile mouse pro because it's just effing cool.
