Are interviews always required for admission to MSF programs?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if interviews are always required to be admitted to MSF programs? It seems like from the admission descriptions at most schools, they only interview some of the people who apply.

If they are required, what are some ways to prepare for them? How similar will they be to regular finance interviews? Any technicals?

Thanks!

My interviews have been strictly behavioral, as I would assume most MSF interviews would be. Focused on fit.

Be able to explain why you want an MSF and why this school's program will be a good fit for you. Know your short/long term goals, and how this degree will help you achieve them.

From what I've heard, if you come from an accounting/finance sort of a background, they might ask you some technical questions but otherwise they are mostly behavioural.

I came from finance background and got zero technical questions (only applied to two schools, so I suppose that's a small sample size). The MSF is made for people who don't have much experience in finance, so they really don't care about that. It's much more about fit - they want to know if you're someone they can place well during recruiting ;)
